Aimé Van Hecke
Aimé Van Hecke (1959) has been Chief Executive Officer of Sanoma Magazines Belgium since January 2007.
Before joining Sanoma Magazines Belgium, Van Hecke worked for the VRT, the publicly-funded broadcaster of radio and television in the Flemish speaking part of Belgium. After having fulfilled a role as consultant for several years within that company, in 2003 Van Hecke became General Director Television of VRT. In this position, he was responsible for the transformation of VRT into one of Europe’s best performing public broadcasters.
Van Hecke started his career in consumer research and set up his own consultancy company in event marketing, sponsoring management, media & entertainment. Over the years, Aimé Van Hecke has gained a tremendous record of service within the marketing and media management segment.
In addition, Van Hecke worked as a publisher for the second largest newspaper in Belgium Het Nieuwsblad / De Gentenaar.
